The City is undertaking work to improve Transit shelters and bus stops along with significant upgrades to the sidewalks that connect people to Transit. The work is being partially funded by the federal government, who contributed $1.5 million through the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund. One of the objectives of the fund, which is administered by the province, is to improve the active transportation network of municipalities across the country.

The newly installed traffic signal at the intersection of Lorne Avenue and Ruth Street will be fully activated and switched into normal operation in the coming days. The signal has been flashing all-red since October 15th in order to provide road users with advance notice that the intersection will soon be controlled by a traffic signal instead of stop signs.

One block of Herold Road, between Pawlychenko Lane and Slimmon Road, will be closed on Friday, October 20, 2017, to allow for water and sewer replacement work. The intersection will reopen by late-afternoon, barring weather delays or unforeseen circumstances.

The City of Saskatoon, through its Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee, recognizes achievement for heritage preservation in Saskatoon through the presentation of awards every second year. The next Heritage Awards will be held in 2018.

Reminder! The deadline for applicant submissions is tomorrow, Friday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m. Any project completed prior to September 1, 2017 is eligible, including non-award winning submissions from past years.
