The City is advising the public that coyote sightings have occurred at various locations throughout Saskatoon.  The City reminds people to keep their distance from coyotes and all wildlife as they can be unpredictable when confronted.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding coyotes or other wildlife within City limits, please contact Parks Pest Management at 306-975-3300.  If an emergency occurs, please contact Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300.

Cool off this summer at any of the 17 City of Saskatoon spray pads located in various locations around the city.  Summer spray pads will open for the season on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 10 a.m., and will be operational daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Please note, spray pad sites located on or near school grounds have timers and are set to turn spray features off during recess and lunch breaks.  Shut-off times will vary according to individual school schedules.  All spray pads are activated by push buttons located near the spray features.

The City’s Summer Leisure Mini Guide (Mini Guide) will be conveniently delivered to households with the weekly Bridges publication on Friday, June 2, 2017.  It will also be available for pick up at any indoor Leisure Centre or Saskatoon public library location, and will be available online on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

Earlier this afternoon a tractor trailer pulled over a light standard at the intersection of 51st Street and Warman Road.  City crews are on site installing a new standard and work is expected to be completed later today.  Four-way stops will be in effect until the repairs are done.  Motorists are being advised to avoid the intersection if possible.

The City has partnered with the Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District on a pilot project that will use new technology to keep sidewalks clean.

“We’re continuously looking for better and more affordable ways to improve how we deliver services, and we want to help our citizens do the same thing," says Brandon Harris, Director of Roadways and Operations.  "In this case, using new partnerships and new technology will hopefully improve the way BID sweep their sidewalks, and provide a cost savings for the City at the same time."
